Sweet flatbread

Sweet flatbread

You have possibly eaten a flatbread before… haven’t you? But most likely this was in a savoury meal. Maybe with a curry? We introduce you to the sweet flatbread, an amazing flavour experience! We would say that this dish is perfect to serve during a brunch or when you want to treat yourself in the morning. If you don’t really fancy the sweet version, don’t worry! This recipe can be easily transferred into a savoury version. See the options below.

Ingredients for 2 flatbreads:

  • 150 g of whole wheat flour
  • 100 ml of yoghurt
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp of cinnamon

Ingredients for topping:

  • 4 tbsp of quark
  • 2 tsp of jam
  • 2 tbsp of pomegranate seeds
  • Some leaves of fresh mint

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients for the flatbread together. Knead the ingredients until it forms a dough, do this with your hands. Now, let it rest for around 15 minutes. After resting, divide the ball into two pieces. Use a rolling pin to make the flatbreads thin, if not thin, it won’t be cooked enough. Heat some oil or butter in a pan and bake the flatbreads around 5 minutes each side on medium heat. Serve it with the toppings. Enjoy!

Options: flatbreads taste very nice with savoury combinations as well. In this case, leave out the cinnamon and use spinach and goat cheese as a topping!
