Chocolate & sea salt granola

We love granola for breakfast! It is crunchy and mostly full of flavour. The combination with fresh fruit like banana and strawberries makes it a perfect meal to start the day. Unfortunately, the granola’s or muesli’s that you buy in the supermarket often contain high amounts of sugar and/or flavour combinations that we don’t always like. So the solution then is to make it yourself! Our favourite granola is classic granola with seeds and cinnamon or this dark chocolate granola with sea salt. You could say that you have dessert for breakfast with this granola!

 

Ingredients for 1 batch:

  • 150 g oats
  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of honey 
  • 1 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • 50 g of dark chocolate
  • A pinch of coarse sea salt

 

Instructions:

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Chop the chocolate roughly. Melt the coconut oil in a pan. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix everything together. Place a baking paper on a baking tray and put the oat mixture on the tray. This has to go in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. Try to turn the mixture so now and then, so it doesn’t burn. If the oats are getting too brown, then take it out of the oven a bit earlier. When it is done, let it cool down and store it in a jar. Enjoy!

 

Optional: add nuts or coconut to the granola
