Do you know the feeling that it can take FOREVER to get the perfect recipe? Well, this week I finally surpassed this point. We can assure you, this recipe is the perfect banana bread recipe. Don’t look any further… The ingredients and preparation are so easy that you can make it any moment. This delicious banana bread is filling, therefore it is the perfect snack. You won’t have any cravings after eating this… Ok, maybe that is a lie, because after eaten one piece, you want to eat the whole cake! Save yourself by freezing some slices of the cake! Then you don’t eat everything at once, and you don’t risk that the cake gets dry (happens after 4 days). Freeze it and take it out of the freezer one day before consuming by storing it in the fridge! Also, this cake can even be eaten for breakfast. Just take 2 thick slices and add some yoghurt/quark and fruit! Sounds perfect right?
Ingredients:
- 4 small (ripe) bananas, or 3 large ones
- 70 g of olive oil
- 50 g of agave syrup
- 2 eggs
- 250 g of whole wheat flour
- 50 g of dark chocolate
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
Intructions:
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Peel the bananas and put them in a blender together with the oil, agave syrup and eggs. Blend this until it is a smooth mixture. In a separate bowl, put the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix this together with a whisk. Now add the banana/egg mixture to the bowl and mix everything together with a whisk. Chop the dark chocolate and stir this slowly through the mixture. Put a piece of baking paper in a cake thin, or grease the cake thin with oil or butter. Pour the cake mixture into the cake thin and put the cake in the preheated oven for around 50 minutes. Enjoy!
Options: add some blueberries or raspberries for a more fruity banana bread!
